That's what I had on my face for most of the show. I didn't notice until sometime into the encore, but I think I'd been smiling from the moment The Edge struck the first chord and the lights came up. And when the lights illuminated the crowd during "Beautiful Day" I actually laughed out loud.
U2 excels at a few things and one of them is holding tightly to their convictions while at the same time embracing wonder, and they shared that with everyone on their birthday as a band.
Thanks guys - can't wait for the next time!
