Review
2005-09-22 - Vertigo 9/22/05 - United Center submitted by Jennifer SenkowskiI was leery about the seats that were sold to us through ticket master. Paying $100/ticket and seeing the ticket that states "Behind the Stage" definitely had me concerned about my seats. But I'm glad that there were no permanent backdrops throughout the show. U2 did not neglect their fans behind the stage. The sound in the United Center was perfect as well as the light syncopation. The band played on and on and on, which is so nice to see (and hear). I believe they would have played all night long if given the opportunity. Even with Bono leading the rest of the boys into what seemed like last minute song variation decisions, no one seemed thrown off on their rhythm. Bono definitely knows how to hold the crowds attention and make every girl jealous when he decides to pick some lucky gal out of the audience to dance with him on stage. I think the best part of U2 is the fact that they love to interact with the audience and make everyone feel like they're apart of the show. No politics were mentioned during the concert, which depending on your own views is a good or bad thing. As always, Bono used his voice to spread a message of hope for Africa which I hope was not lost on the fans. All in all, A+ to this show. back
