Review

2001-10-25 - New York City, 1st night submitted by Kevin

Opening night at Madison Square Garden, and the pumped up crowd is on its feet from the 1st note. The roar is deafening as the band opens with Elevation followed by Beautiful Day. This is a band on a roll. They don't let up at all. A girl with a sign that reads "chicks can play guitar too" is pulled out of the crowd given a guitar and plays Knockin on Heavens Door. She's great, and Bono even lets her sing a verse. The crowd loves this band and this band loves the crowd. Bono talks about the IRA laying down their guns, and what a great day to be Irish. This tour is not to be missed. Bad, Pride(in the name of love) Bullet the Blue Sky, lots of great stuff from the new album. Absolutely magnificent. What a band!!
