Saw them open for the J Geils Band, who were in their "Centerfold" heyday. I distinctly remember Gloria, Into the Heart. I Will Follow and Out of Control as they were the songs getting airplay on the local "New Wave" station in town, Z-97. Bono was all over the stage and I think I remember The Edge playing piano on a song. They went over pretty well considering it was a typical J Geils, heavy drinking mullet crowd in attendance. My cousin later followed U2 back to their hotel where they hung with Adam and The Edge and got a black long sleeved button up tour shirt that had a simple white U2 emblem where the pocket would be. I think he said he grabbed it when he saw their laundry downstairs :-)
