Review
2005-07-20 - a great show full of hope, love and peace! submitted by Jaco KaziusThis show was great! For me personally it was the best church attendance i ever made in my whole live. After building up the expectations and waiting in line for 5 hours, we mannaged to get very close to the stage. When i realised how close to the stage i was, i completely lost my mind...
Kaiser Chiefs and the Killers did a good job. Much better than Kelis did four years ago ;-) And then there was this chorus i heard in de bootlegs of previous shows... people... get ready... and then... 1,2,3,4... excuse me.. unos dos tres catorce!!!! i screamed my lungs out. my eyes went wet.. this song has everything in it... the chaos, the disorder of the present times and off course the girl with crimson nails with Jesus round the neck. Salvation is near... it's here... it's teaching us how to kneel... teaching ME how to kneel... the spirit entered the Amsterdam ArenA and i was giving in to it.
Everything that followed was simply perfect. This was an evening filled with hope. The bird with the leave in her mouth, the kingdom come, free at last, teach me Lord i know i'm not a hopeless case... brilliant lyrics and brilliant music and artwork on the screeens.
I'm glad Bono got my sms in which i asked him to dedicate Miracle Drug to my girlfriend... and all the other nurses off course ;-) After the show we were silent in the car. No music for us... we chose to relive the concert again. And when at last we got home, we took a good whiskey before getting to sleep.. which wasn't easy at all for me. The music and the experience just would'nt leave me... I didn't fall asleep before 03:00 in the morning.
This show was exactly wehat i expected it to be and what i needed at that moment. U2 are truly blessed. U2 is King, well on the other hand... they are good princes ;-)
THANKS A LOT FOR THIS GREAT SHOW! back
