Review

2005-07-14 - ArenA Amsterdam submitted by AAK

U2 performed a great concert. Sound quality, especially for Bono, was initially pretty poor, but they did manage to improve it after a couple of songs. After the sun went down, the stage really came to life with U2. There were a couple of interesting touches: Bono sang a few lines from "The Port of Amsterdam" and from Sergeant Pepper--though it did not seem that the Dutch crowd heard/picked up on that.... U2 sang "Happy Birthday" to Anton Corbijn. In "The Fly" and "Bullet the Blue Sky", The Edge, Larry, and Adam were really jamming. The crowd did not seem too enthusiast about the breakthroughs in aid to Africa, or maybe they could not hear what Bono was saying. Had a blast!
