Review
2005-07-10 - Awesome, it does not get any better!! submitted by Paul EllisAfter arriving into the stadium just after 5pm, we qued for what seemed an eternity for tour t's (as you do!!) and then took our seat facing the tunnel stand.
The next couple of hours passed with excellent support sets by Starsailor (who were just glad to be there) and the brilliant Killers (they played all their songs from the Hot Stuff album) It was at this point that i began dancing as i knew the Killers tunes so i was pretty warmed up by the fantastic music and the unbelieveable venue the Millennium Stadium had become for a concert. I have been numerous time to the stadium but this was different and the energy was transmitted from the crowd right at the stage to the rest of the crowd.
Vertigo Opened, we all moved in unison, the stand shook as everybody took the song to heart. In that opening song, we were won! The main problem was the hits kept on coming, it was like being on a rollercoaster which did not stop for over two hours. The messages got through, the songs entertained the crowd. And when Bono forgot the words, the welsh crowd were right there to put him back on track.
we spent £85 per ticket, but all i can say is that i would pay double to watch the same concert again. It has left an impression on me which will be hard to shake off for a long time to come.
Thanks
Paul & Syd back
