Review

2005-07-07 - 05.07. Slaski Stadium, Poland submitted by Miran

Just returned home from our journey to Poland!

We are 4 people from Slovenia (not Slovakia) travelling 1840 km there and back just to see U2 concert in Chorzow!

We have started on 04.07. at midnight, travelled via Vienna through Slovakia, Chech Republic into Poland and check-in a hotel in Cieszyn, then went on to Chorzow. After the concert we stayed in a hotel for a night and then returned the same way back with a great stop at Bratislava.

This was my fourth U2 concert (saw them in Verona, Wiener Neustadt and Torino before) and I can say it was as goog as always... Perfect sound, enough power, superb light-show...

But the atmosphere at the stadium was something special: we did not expect Polish fans to be such a good crowd, applauding at all the right moments, cheering all the time and singing all the way through the concert...

The highlight of the concert was the creation of the polish red and white flag!!! Bono was stunned, but we were too, you can believe me... We couldn't figure it out how was it organized, until we read about it on this very forum... Great public, Poland, I'll be back to some concerts soon...!

Performances were top professional as usual, just some energy was missing during the "Pride" performance. Anyway, concert to remember!

Last but not the least: zapiekanjka and sausages at th satdium stands were excellent!
