Review
2005-07-07 - The best show EVER!!! submitted by Becky HeneghanMy husband and I came all the way from Chicago just to see U2 in their final show at home and it was amazing! We were right up front and they were just beautiful to see up close. They played with a lot of heart and emotion. The set was fantastic and the sound was perfect. The graphics were different than the US tour - especially the one used when they play, 'Sometime You Can't Make it On Your Own'. Bono brought a little girl up on stage and asked her name. He said his name was Paul but people call him Bono. He took her hat placed it on his head and when he was going to return it the cord accidentally got it caught in his ear piece. He recovered well though and went on to sing without skipping a beat. They played a ton of fabulous songs with a great mixture of old and new and even made some touching dedications during Miracle Drug and at the end of the show. I've seen U2 many, many times but I've never felt as much love for them in one place as I did at Croke Park. This was their tribe and I loved being a part of that. To end the show, U2 sang 40. Before Bono left the stage he took off his rosary necklace and left it hanging on the microphone, clearly touched by his loyal and devote group of fans. If you ever have a chance to see them at home do it and also see the beautiful Ireland, filled with amazing history, great pubs, Gunniess and beautiful people!! back
