What went wrong !!!!

I had geared myself up for the experience of a lifetime (expectations too high possibly ??!!) and felt let down.
Sorry. I hate to say it - but thats the way it felt. I am a huge U2 fan - and have been since about '86 - but Sat. 1st was a huge dissapointment.
The fact is that the boys may have been brilliant - but I was unable to tell because the sound was so awful !! Spectacular stage show - crap sound !!!

The sound for the support acts was fantastic. I was positioned way at the back on the hill, and the sound for Ash and Moby (the 2 full acts I caught) was excellent, but as soon as U2 came on, it all went to hell. There appeared to be about a 1/2 sec delay between the sound coming out of one speaker stack and the next - so the overall effect was a totally distorted sound. It wasn't just me, everyone around me was mentioning the same thing. Put it this way, if you had stuck on your CD and it played the same way, you would have been taking your CD player or the CD itself back to the shop as being defective.

People, I am sorry. I so wanted to wax lyrical about the awesome event I had anticipated - about the Inspiration and Joy it should have been. Sadly - not the case.
