I never had any doubt that I would be engulfed by U2s performance and I was. They gave an electrifying performance and the playlist included all the familiar anthems that swept up the crowd - U2 know how to carry the audience with them. I first saw them perform mid 80s and during some of the songs I was transported back nearly 20 years to Cardiff Arms Park. The Edge still manages to create a tingle up my spine with his guitar playing and Bono enthused and filled the stadium with his energy.

Unfortunately I caught a few negative comments relating to the set - I can only speak for myself but I came to see and hear the band - a rock band, not gaup at special effects and the like. As for the comments of some individuals regarding Bono's politicising - so what! For me it didn't detract from what was a brilliant night. He has a deep felt view and presumably everyone in the audience are all grown up enough and capable of making their own decisions - let the music speak for itself and keep an open mind.

The performance went by in a blink of an eye - I could have stayed and listened to them all night. It was brilliant! Maybe I'll come down later or maybe I'll just crank up the volume in the car and re-live it again..............
