2011-02-15 - Incredible submitted by Nomad

The show is beyond words to describe. It's one thing to see images of the Claw online, but to be standing underneath it, seeing it looming over you, is totally different. Prior to the performance, this immense structure suggests an imposing presence, one that overshadows the band. But when they take the stage, and the air rings with the combined noise of nearly 100,000 fans screaming in joy, the Claw seems almost minor in comparison. This was more than just a concert, although the music was phenomenal. The combination of the excellent sound engineering, with the breathtaking lighting effects and the moving/expanding screen is simply astounding. The addition of the Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu videos to this is means that the South African crowd went wild, and having Hugh Masekela show up was icing on the cake. In all, a truly unforgettable experience, and certainly the best concert of my life.
