Review

2005-05-23 - U2 rocks Philly submitted by Greg Capella

Last night U2 took the stage for their second show in Philadelphia at the Wachovia Center and just totally blow away by the 18 thousand plus that pack the place. They seem to feed off the fans energy as the Philly faithfull song the first three song louder than Bono and his micophone. When the band went into elevation Bono and the band just played as the crowd voice as one start the song off. Bono responed "We that is Philadelphia for you" The the place went into a whole new gear.
Nobody sat down, dancing and singing through out the show which was a little over two hours long.
Three song had some sound problem but nobody seem to care. Just for the record they where City of Blinding Lights, One, Zoo Station.
U2's stages keep getting better with the tech lighting and TV images as Bono and the band take there fans to a place where war is evil and world hunger and human rights becaome the focus point of the message of the music.
I have followed U2 since 1981 when most people never heard of them. Now they are one of rocks biggest Icon that cant' be compared to other goups. And they don't seem to be slowing down after25 years. They just get better
