Review

2005-05-21 - FOR THE MUSIC OR THE $$$??!! submitted by Steve

Have been a fan of U2 since the early days and have seen many a concert in my 38 years...my personal favorites...1985 at UIC, the 1986 Amnesty Tour & the 1987 Rosemont gigs. I have to agree with the two individuals who wrote reviews from E. Rutherford. While this tour was good, I personally feel U2 should have played for more than 2 hours...especially for the price of the tickets!! For an obviously seasoned band of 25 plus years, U2 could have done this for their true, loyal fans of years back. It was great to hear "An Cat Dubh" & "Gloria" again however....but I as well as other die-hard fans would love to hear more...would have preferred to hear "The Unforgettable Fire" or "Surrender" in place of the usual, predictable U2 concert staples. Furthermore, a longer setlist would have introduced the new U2 fans to more of the band's older material. How about a 3-hour set..the first half consisting of newer material..the second all pre-1984. If Pink Floyd, Rush, Bruce & others can do it, why not U2!?
