2009-10-31 - If this concert wasn't good enough for you, consider getting over yourself submitted by Pamelicious1971

U2 have earned their place as pop rock demi gods in my mind. They are and probably always will be relevant. What more can you ask for but incredible, well thought out music and lyrics and a band who obviously care about their fans and care about the world around them and aren't afraid to step out of the comfort zone and risk losing (as if that could happen) stardom to stay true to themselves. Are they perfect? Probably not. But it's the contradictions that make them human and you have to give credit where credit is due. "I don't believe in excess, success is to give." about sums it up. U2 is music that speaks to your heart and speaks to your soul. It just depends on whether you are listening or not. As far as I am concerned, there's no sense getting fussy about the play list or the set or what have you, they performed as powerfully in Vancouver as they did in LA...it was a world class show and they left it ALL on the floor. All YOU need to do is take it in.
