Review
2005-05-19 - Disappointed submitted by JacquieI was a huge fan in the 80's and saw the Unforgettable Fire tour, Joshua Tree tour as well as Zoo-TV. I am sorry to say that I was disappointed with the Vertigo tour. The setlist on this night was just o.k. I enjoyed most of the HTDAAB and ATYCLB material, but felt that a few of the slower songs could have been left out in order to raise the overall energy level of the show. Bono's slow theatrics became a bit tiresome as well as the amount of political ramblings. I know that U2 has always been political, but for tickets costing $175 each face value and a 2 hour time limit - I personally would have enjoyed more uplifting classic U2 anthems like Gloria, I will follow, Bad, With or without you, I still haven't found what I'm looking for, wire, desire, etc. Bacically, less Actung Baby, and HTDAAB and more War, Josua Tree, Unforgettable FIre material. Fans like myself have returned to give U2 another chance because the new music rocks again and coincidentally sounds a lot more like their early recordings. (We are willing to forget about Zooropa and Pop). After this concert, I believe that I will just have to pull out my old U2 cd's to relive the old magic. back
