Review

2009-10-07 - pretty good show submitted by Denroe

This was the 8th time I have seen U2 (every tour since Achtung Baby, some multiples)and while it was not their best show it was still entertaining. I thought that the acoustics were not too bad but it was extremely loud, but this could have been influenced by where we were (just off center floor, 100 ft from the stage). I enjoyed the playlist for the most part but did take issue with ending with Moment of Surrender. I thought that after playing "W/ or W/O you" that a more high energy and upbeat song was more appropriate to end with (they would have rocked the place with "Pride" in MLK's hometown). I rather enjoyed the techno version of "...Crazy Tonight" but maybe that is b/c I have been hearing that song on the radio over and over lately. There actually seemed to be a lot of energy on the floor with that song. I loved hearing Ultraviolet for the first time in concert and that suit was cool. Bono's voice seemed a bit muted throughout, and was very concerned that he was either unable or unwilling to hit high notes when hearing "Mysterious Ways" (second song) but that wasnt noticed with the rest of the concert. Overall my wife (casual fan) and I (die hard fan) both had a good time.
