My husband and I went to see the U2 concert at the Wachovia Center this past Saturday night, May 14, 2005. It was my first time seeing U2 in concert and my husband's 3rd time. I have heard so many amazing things from others about what kind of show U2 put on. I was skeptical. I have seen tons of concerts and didn't think that it would be any different than any other concert I have seen. I WAS WRONG!!! The lighting and theatrics were amazing. The songs were even better in person. I am partial to Vertigo and hearing it live was phenomenal. I had a very nostalgic feeling throught the concert, like I had seen them before. It was comfortable yet it was all new. After the concert was over, I looked to my husband and told him that he needed to try to get tickets for the next show (the following Sunday night, May 22, 2005). The way Bono made a fun concert into more than just entertainment was incredible. He addressed equality in a way that touches your heart and make you want to help. I was touched by his heartfelt sincerity. Hopefully, I will be able to enjoy the experience again.
