Review
2005-05-15 - Awesome Show submitted by JoeOver the years I have seen such greats as the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, etc. For one reason or another I always missed out on U2 tickets so I made it a point to get a ticket and see them in Philly.
Although the ticket I purchased was $400.00 (sec 103- row 12), the concert was worth every penny! U2 blew the roof off of the Wachovia Center. The crowd went nuts when the band took the stage (9:10 pm), especially when Bono rose up from beneath the elliptical stage. It was definitely a moment I will not forget.
Personally I enjoy their 2001 album ATYCLB more than the new one although City of Blinding Lights sounded great and was an excellent opener. Without a doubt, the climax of the show was "Where the Streets Have No Name". I thought the arena was going to explode! I will never listen to that song the same way again.
Overall the show had an amazing level of energy that I have not experienced at a concert in a long time. I highly recommend that you spend the extra money and see them in concert. They are incredible!
