2009-09-26 - Great show submitted by Jeff

O.k., if one more person starts a review with "I've been a fan since the 80's, saw them on the Joshua Tree tour in '87, etc." and then uses that "pedigree" to add weight to a negative review I'm gonna puke. Get over it- they're not playing whatever obscure album tracks you want to hear, because bands that play to 80,000 seat stadiums don't arrange their setlists that way.

That said, I am a fan "from the 80's" who's seen them many times on many tours and still thinks that this show was a great one. Although the setlists on this tour have been bothering people, last night's setlist was tweaked just enough to keep the place rocking straight through the first 10 songs, and I was in the upper deck.

"Stay" was first song where the energy level dipped, but remember that was song 11- any show has a natural energy dip by that point. And Bono messed up the lyrics to the point of starting over. Unforgettable Fire was great for the old fans and had interesting enough lights, etc. for the people who weren't familiar with it. By City of Blinding Lights the energy was back up again and people were singing again.

Sound quality was really amazing for a stadium show. My only complaint was the creepy masks during "walk on". Someone please stop the masks.
