2009-09-20 - Most memorable show I have seen submitted by Brian

I was 17 and one of the many who "bunked in" that day. I could not get any other friends to come so I went alone. Once I got in (which was not hard) I grabbed a spot at the rear. It was very crowded and must have been the hottest day of the year. I remember seeing the bouncers spraying water on the crowd to cool them off. Only the ones up front got anything from that. I missed the 1st couple of acts bit got there for Simple Minds and The Eurythmics before U2. I remember Annie Lennox getting mad at people throwing plastic bottles on the stage and almost walking off. Bono was great and did a fantastic stage show. The crowd echoed " How long to sing this song?" for hours after the concert, all the way out of the park, on the bus back into town and it was still echoed in McDonalds on O'Connell street hours later. I woke the next day to a lost voice and very bad sun burn but it was well worth it.
