Great show watched from Red Zone 2.back
I'll get my gripes out of the way first !
Whilst The Hours did their best with the thankless task of opening spot, Glasvegas were poor, lead singer with a (wrong) attitude, no attempt to interact with the crowd.
U2 have mixed with the middle of the set but first 4 and last 3 (encore) songs have stayed the same at every show. Anyone else think opening and closing songs are wrong for this tour ? I would prefer opening with a rocker and closing with a classic. Moment Of Surrender did not capture the imagination of the crowd k last night, walking to the back of the stage, seats were half empty, not sure what they thought, they should have had a standing ovation. I think reversing the encore closing with Ultra Violet or WOWY would work much better. They cranked the bass up for Moment and sound which had been excellent throughout was distorted, meaning they finished on a low rather than a high.
One was a complete mess, worst version i have heard, MLK muddled, Crazy remix just did not work for me. Sure they are trying something different, but i think they ought to revamp older stronger songs or compose a medley of songs if they feel the need to experiment. Bono reached snippet overload during this show - no more Please.
Wow ! Anyone would think i didn't enjoy myself ! It was a GREAT show well worth the wait. NLOTH, Vertigo, Bad, COBL rocked. Bad, NYD, Streets good as ever, Until The End of The World awesome as was Ultra Violet.
