Review

2008-06-24 - Longest, wettest, bestest day MK Bowl 1985 submitted by Biigfish

Have been scaving sites to no avail for anything relating to this gig, glad I found this.Been an eye opener, forgot I saw so many big 80's names eg fell in love with Chrissie Hynde, thought REM were great being as it was the 1st I ever heard/saw of them back then, Kirk Brandon pumping himsellf up to near multiple embolism.Remember B.Bragg releived the bottles were plastic(the piss was real, though...) and what a quagmire.Another plus was being introduced to "The The", which was played over the system. I went to my local HMV wondering how on earth I was going to ask for a record that I knew neither the band name or the album title when a minor miracle occurred; HMV were playing it on their system as I walked in , I said "I'll have that one..." U2 were my main attraction and do actually remember the rain stopping when they came on, (a mini Red Rocks?) At a time when I am wallowing in middle aged self pity etc so glad to have been there, slainthe U2!!
