Though this was a long time ago I remember it fairly well. U2 had been rehearsing in Hershey all week for the up coming leg of the Zoo TV Tour. Apperently they wanted to rehearse in the recently vacated Memorial Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland but were denied by the powers that be. Rumours began to circulate about a possible show open to the public set for Friday eve. Lo and behold Friday around noontime the radio announced ticket locations for that evenings show. I left work and frantically went to the ticket outlet and was like the last person to get tix at that location. So, my wife and I got to see U2 for 15 bucks. They played Pride twice, presented Edge with a cake for his birthday(the whole audience sang Happy Birthday to him), and Edge sang/guitar Van Diemen's Land solo. Very cool! Truly a magical night for backwoods hick such as myself.
