For God's Sake, SOMEONE has to review the U2 concert in Saratoga Springs, August '92--someone who was front-and-center.

My three friends and I were the four women who sat at the Raceway box office for 22 hours in June to get tickets. We bought the entire first row. We didn't know it at the time, but U2--always looking out for their fans--made sure that 1,000 seats were available for fans. And only 1,000 seats. The other 64,000 people at the Saratoga Raceway had to stand.

During the show, there was no barrier between U2 and us--we could touch the stage. We'd been in the front row at Giants Stadium several days before, but this was different. It was incredible--like all other U2 shows, they were brilliant, shining, charged--ON. And insanely close--we shared energy.

A remarkable show, spent in the company of my dearest friends in the world. It felt like a private concert. No matter where I see U2 again, it'll never be that intimate, or that special.
