Wednesday November 11, 1987 was a great day to skip school. Those of us living in the the Bay Area awoke that morning to rumors that the Rolling Stones were going to play at an impromptu concert at Justin Herman Plaza. Needless to say it was an easy choice for me to skip out on my classes at SFSU.

We arrived at the Plaza fairly early. BGP crews were setting up a stage infront of the plaza's modern art fountain. While waiting for the guests of honor, a couple of us were playing catch with a football. We were all a little surprised when Bill Graham himself came over and told us to put it away before someone got hurt.

U2 finally arrived amidst snarled traffic and gave one of their best performances ever! Everyone there that day was truely blessed to have born witness to a spectaular show, on a spectacular day, in our city on the bay...
