There was a bus strike in Birmingham and very few people went to the show. U2 were actually supporting a Birmingham band called Fashion. At one point Bono jumped of the stage to the empty dance floor and strutted around the dance floor and i remember him saying between songs ..."In Ireland we call this cabaret"".............

i think about 30+ people attended the gig. Years later when U2 plyed the NEC Bono commented about the cedar club gig but said there were aonly 12 peole present. he said 'I hope those 12 people are here tonight... I was...
