Lemme say, I saw U2 a few weeks ago in Philly...I can't express the power and emotion in this band...Even though didn't do their greatest track ("Bad") they made up for it with perfect versions of "With Or Without You," "One," "Where The Streets Have No Name," "New Years Day," and the oldie but goodie "I Will Follow." The new tracks sounded fantastic ("Kite!" Forget about it, beautiful!). The Edge proved he his a killer guitar player, and I finally realized that Bono is not only the greatest frontman in rock presently (since Freddie Mercury can no longer hold that title), but he may in fact be god..."Bullet The Blue Sky" with the Bono's rap at the end, and use of the spotlight (a la Rattle and Hum) gave me the chills..."Over 620 thousand Americans will DIE by the BULLET in the next 20 years, starting with you, JOHN..." An amazing moment, up there with seeing Springsteen do "Born To Run" and "Thunder Road," and Neil Young doing "Cowgirl In The Sand" last summer...Hope they come back to First Union in the fall, so that I can finally see them do "Bad" ("Two Hearts Beat As One" and "Even Better Than The Real Thing" would be cool too.) Thanks for a great show.
