That was the first time U2 came in Greece! Not because they wanted to, but because we had invited them as Thessaloniki was then the Cultural Capital of Europe. No words can describe what was happening those days. A whole city had been transformed into a U2 fiesta. Everybody talked about it. More than 60,000 people were lucky enough to watch the show. Many of them, in order to get close to the stage, had slept the night before the show outside the gate! Others who hadn' t found a place to stay (there weren' t any hotel rooms left weeks ago!) were sleeping on benches&parks. Me? Oh, I was watching all these from TV... And not just me. Many of us who don't live in Thessaloniki. I' m 21and I' ve never felt so miserable in my whole life. Being so deeply in love with their music-and with Bono of course-I felt like in heaven when I first heard about their coming. But then I was only 16 and as I live in Athens my parents didn' t let me go in Thessaloniki to watch the show! Well, you' ll wonder why I am writting all this. I don' t know if anyone will ever read this, but I want to say that it' s a shame that U2 never choose our country to perform although they have a HUGE audience and funs here waiting for them to sing " I WILL FOLLOOOW " ! U2; WE HAVE THE CROWD, WE HAVE THE STADIUM; GIVE US YOUR MUSIC!!! COME AGAIN!!! P.S.
