2003-01-02 - Great early performance from a young U2 submitted by Steve KAn enthusiastic crowd spurred on a U2 still in the throes of development.Bono powered out songs throughout,never a lull in the entire performance from the opener Gloria which was recieved with delight through to the spine tingling October,the audience falling silent as they seemed mesmerised by the bands softer approach.Stories for Boys and I Will Follow got them rocking again and by the time Out Of Control finished the set they were baying for more.The place erupted as Bono strutted out for the encore once more with the crowd in the palm of his hand almost,drained what energy they had left with Fire,11 oclock tick tock and The Ocean.You could see from this early performance u2 were destined for super power status.Absolutely brilliant. back
