Remember it as if it was yesterday. I was 14, with long hair,boots up to my knees and already a u2 junkie. I left my house at 8am with my u2 7" 12" and albums and made my way into city center, arrived in city at 8.30 and went to Blooms hotel.. why bring your vinyls to Blooms Hotel you might ask, well my friend at the time was an autograph hunter and he knew where Mr Paul BONO VOX Hewson was staying that night. I sat across from the hotel reading my vinyls again and again untill 6.00pm, when a black car pulled up and parked at the side of the road, I asked the driver was this car for Bono, He just said "who", I was gutted I had waited for over 9hrs and just turned to walk away and make my way to croke park. When out Bono and Ali came, HE stood there in a pure white suit,boots up to his knees, his hair perfect. Said Hello to me and put his arm around me for a photograph ,then signed his name on all my vinyls.He then got into the car beside Ali, put his hand in hers. I leaned in to thank him and they both winked and smiled at the same time at me... I made my may to Croker as high as a kite, to watch the greatest band ever... So if you seen someone with a bunch of vinyls under his arm that day at the concert. It was me. 22 yers ago
