i was an american in europe... no real plan at all after college. not the typical eurail one-city-a-day trip. i had been in pamplona and bailed out to san sebastian to dry out for a few days. in a local record shop, i found a poster advertising roundtrip bus fare and ticket for what seemed like a ridiculously low price. i bought one on the spot.

i remember arriving with masses of other buses from all over... once inside, it was packed. i just gradually made my way down to the middle of the field and continually edged closer. people were wonderful, the music transcendent, the night incredible.

nearly didn't find my particular bus back, but eventually did and the trip was etched in my memory forever. still have my paper ticket "stub."
