ah memories. by the banks of the lovely lee. u2 take to the stage on edges 26th birthday and end the european leg with a boisterous show to nearly 50000 rowdy, noisy irish. at the same time the band were very relaxed as they were to get a well earned rest before returning to the states. no streets to kick things off, we sang stand by me instead. aside from that, it was as we had come to hear. the stadium is open on 3 sides so any rain wouldn't have been welcome. none came and we had a good day out. the bus journey is a long one from the north, but when you have a u2 ticket and a dozen cold cans, does it matter.
