Review

2006-12-13 - From Colombia With Love! They Raised Their Own Bar! submitted by Jaime Rodriguez

I really don't know what to say. This truly was a humbling experience for a Colombian fan of U2.
Having seeing them once before this tour (Miami) I really didn't see how this show could top that one. After all the Miami show included Walk On and Bad to finish off.

Wow Was I Wrong!!!

First Off, The G.A Line experience really is something else. I want to thank all the fans who were so nice to us Colombians #133 and #134. The anticipation carried all the way from Friday at 9:00 AM Local time until 20 hours later when finally Rocko And The Devils Took the stage.

Expectations were not too good for Rocko, however he deffinetly proved us skeptics fans wrong. His energy level was so high that we couldnt help but jump and sing the few songs we knew from them.

Pearl Jam played a very powerfull 1 hour show that included such classics as "Even Flow", "Alive", "Do The Evolution" and the new "World Wide Suicide". Overall it deffinetly got us jumping and the adrenaline at Aloha Stadium was as explosive as ever.

Now finally the moment that us fans had traveled across the globe from. U2!!!

It was a veeeery long wait. I would say at least 15 more minutes than past shows, but finally "Wake Up" came along and this time it included every show played during the Vertigo Tour on the screen.

Then came Show # 131: HONOLULU!!! (Crowd Went Nuts)

The Energy was up there for the entire show, and Bono seemed very happy and relaxed. It seemed like the fansd that had come to Honolulu are hardcore U2 fans; and the band knew this. For this reason Bono and the gang didnt have to work for the crowd and could just be themselves.

This translated into surprise songs (Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses/Angel Of Harlem/The First Time/Window In The Sky). This also translated into Un-expected cameos like Billy Joe From Green Day to sing Saints Are Coming and Pearl Jam joining U2 to cover Neil Young's "Rocking In the Free World" and many lukcy fans getting picked up from the crowd.

This included one guy who played Piano to the perfection during Wild Horses and many dancers, little children and more fans along the way.

There is really not much more to say. Traveling halfway accross the world to see this band is not only "Worth It" it is necesaary for me and many other U2 fans.

I feel honored that I was part of this show, see you all next show!
