Review
2006-12-10 - Well worth the wait!! submitted by ShaunaThis was an absolutely fantastic concert - in fact, I can't even find the right words to express how terrific the Honolulu show was. Our seats weren't the best, but the performances from all of the bands really made me forget the fact that there was a lighting pylon blocking my view (until after the show when someone we gave a ride to the stadium mentioned it). Even my husband, who is notorious for his distaste for crowds/concerts/arenas, had a great time.
To keep this short, I'll only mention what were, for me, the highlights of the show:
1. While the whole Pearl Jam set was fabulous, their rendition of The Who's "Baba O'Reilly" at the end knocked my socks off.
2. "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" brought tears to my eyes (probably because I'm a parent, and being the Navy far from home, I miss my own parents).
3. "Sunday Bloody Sunday" - nuff said.
4. "Rockin' In the Free World" with Eddie Vedder - again, knocked my socks off, as did "The Saints Are Coming" with Billie Joe. Seriously, how much better can it possibly get?!?
That's really the short version, but honestly, the show was well worth the trouble of buying the expensive tickets (I get military pay - eek!), finding a babysitter, finding parking, and enduring the pot smokers around us. Needless to say, it was most definitely the best concert I've EVER been to. Hooray for being the last stop on the tour!!! back
