Review
2006-11-20 - A VISIT FROM OUR OVERSEAS FRIENDS submitted by Peter DWell we finally had U2 in Melbourne! They played for 2 nights to sold out crowds and we went the 2nd night - last night. Wow! It was so good and powerful. It was a great concert but it was real deep for me too. What I mean is that they talked a lot about serious situations in the world and some of it was hard to hear. Like Bono sang, 'it's no secret the world is in darkness tonight.' Especially when we are so comfortable. Don't get me wrong I loved the concert a lot and the issues we face are very important. It just felt like we all grew up and now we are all responsible now.
The night was like spending the evening with close friends from overseas that we haven't seen for 9 years (that was the last time they were here - and we went to that concert); but it was a drag to have to say good bye so quickly!
Sure hope it won't be another 9 years for the next tour! I guess that's a drawback for living down under!
