Review

2006-11-19 - AMAZING!!! submitted by Tegan

Well I have been waiting for a year since I got my ticket, well actually much longer seeing the last time they came aus i was 8 yrs old.

Never seeing U2 before i was sooo excited to see BONO AND THE EDGE with PEARL JAM at the Make Poverty History Concert held in Melbourne at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl the night before (last Friday), I was front row i couldnt believe it, i was sooo close they played "Rocking the Free World" was great!!!

Lined up at 5am, fans had been camping all night obviously. Probably a little less then 100 ppl there by 6am. They organised the GA que in pens, worked really well i thought, I was in the first pen. THey let us in @ 5.15pm or something like that was nuts, ran in sooo fast was really pushy, once we entered we had to walk, so I power walked and got second row. I didnt know whether to go against the runway or in the middle, decided inbetween because the barrier on the runway had been taken up.

Kanye was alright, I'm not a fan of that genre of music but knew the songs just coz they are popular and i have heard them, so I made an effort my friend high fived him, he is good at what he does and we had fun, he seemed to appreciate the ppl at the fronts enthusiasm also. A rock band would of been better though I think..

U2 was brilliant!! I got a glimpse of the set list before they came on it was annoying but i couldnt help my self, and i looked. Loved every minute, they are a great live band and hope to see them many more times! From where i was the sound was fabulous and the crowd was very much into it. Great to see the two girls and the young boy on stage so much fun and entertaining. Before the band went of for the encore Bono had tears in his eyes and this just made me cry also haha.

Took about 20 mins to get out of the Dome and an hour to the car park!! Very annoying. Overall it was a horrible day (was very cold then BOILING, and I got really bad sunstroke) but one of the best nights of my life!!
Sorry for such a long review :)
