I don't remember the satellite link up to the backyard of a contest winner (hmm, not sure about that one) but during that tour Bono did telephone some local identity for a chat, and at Adelaide the identity in question was the coach of AFL football team Graeme Cornes. I was a little disappointed about that because I thought that they could have done a bit better, rather than pander to the lowest common denominator. It wasn't a particulary controversial decison, and I suspect it was organised beforehand rather than being a random thing.
