Review
2006-11-17 - bloody awesome, advice for melbournites submitted by ShwattaHaving read most of the vertigo tour reviews on the site and studying the setlists, thrashing the chicago dvd i knew what was to be expected and when. It still was really awesome to finally see U2 live.
Bono bought a boy onto the ring and was like 'do you fear me?', and then pointed to all the band members asking the same question, with the edge bono said something like 'are you afraid of this carbon based lifeform known as teh edge?'.
The snippets are much more subtle than i realised. Apprently we had sgt peppers and satisfaction but could not pick them out (and i was listening out for them)
Big BIG advice to the melbournites, GET THERE EARLY!! (3 or 4pm early allow for huge traffic delays after 5pm) if you want any chance of seeing the band without watching the screens. We got stuck in traffic and took a good 2 hours to get there which resulted in a relatively far back spot. So we had to watch teh screens mostly (which isnt too bad).
Never the less, it was very good and memorable to see one of the greatest bands ever. I feel like making poverty history today :D
