i haven't been to any large arena concerts before, so i'm seeing this as a newbie. but bascially, i found the show overwhelmingly good. from the crowd roaring at the first glimpse of bono coming up the back of the stage, to the release of the kite, i wished i could lock the whole thing in a bottle and take it home.

the concert started with a city of blinding lights, a brief shower then vertigo, a brief bit of lightning, then cranked through a half-dozen classics. i loved the way it swayed between full-on ear bending rock, to quiet ballads and minimal lights. the support from the weather added to the event.

to anyone who thinks that u2 is just a support act for bono's politics, i'd say go and see the lads on a good night. you'll see that this is their day job... the other things are just distractions.
