I've been a U2 fan since I was a kid, but this experience was incredible. I've never actually been to a live concert before (yes, very sad for 27 year old), and this was an amazing initiation.
Great atmosphere, real unity among the crowd and a good vibe. Great mix of people too, from teenagers to 60 year old fans. U2 really bridge the generation gap.
My only disappointment is the way they sang my favorite song - With or Without You - or rather the way they "spoke" the lyrics.
They have a very political message which may seem a bit theatrical and contrived at times, but their political stance is admirable and I wish more musicians had an agenda instead of just seeking money and fame (not to suggest U2 don't have bucket loads - as we all know!)
So glad I went, fantastic experience and one I will always rememeber.
Take some ear plugs if you're near the speakers - pretty intense sound! My ears are still ringing!
