Review
2006-11-12 - Vertigo On A Saturday Night In Sydney submitted by BabalumaWe had seats high up (maybe 10 rows down from the highest seats) on the middle of one side of the stadium and the sound was as good as can be expected of a stadium show: A bit boomy perhaps, but nicely together and at just the right volume for that tribal U2 experience. If you see people that far back standing, cheering, dancing and swooning, they must be doing something right. I suppose sound in a stadium really is the luck of the draw. I talked to a friend who was in the front half of the arena the previous night and said the sound was the worst he had for any show. Maybe echoes from the kettle stadium bouncing back at various delays and making the sound muddy? More feedback on the sound experience in various locations is appreciated, to help me select a seat for the next show.
My girlfriend had a curious experience: Fighting slight nausea and vertigo from the height and looking down on the sea of swaying arms, which looked like wiggeling worms to her! - What an appropriate response to the VERTIGO tour !
Highlights of the night - for me - where Sunday ... , Where The Streets Have No Name and Kite. The box kite, attached to some helium baloons escaped into the night air, after some fans in the elipse zone cut the string, hopefully not bringing down any jumbo? back
