Review

2006-11-11 - Very good show submitted by Billy B

First time I have ever seen U2 nd I was not disappointed, make it clear I am ntoa huge U2 fan but saying that there was probably only about 6 songs that I had never heard at some point in my life so it was cool.

We were about half way back on the ground which was a great place to be I think, we could see the band on stage even though theye were 1cm tall , and the screens were very easy to see and the sound was probably the best on the floor.

I saw The Rolling Stones in this venue earlier this year and we were way back up on the back rows of seating and yes the sound was total crap, as I am sure some people will complain about for this show, its not the band, its the venue. Down on the floor the sound was perfect, just loud enough without be deafening.

Security wasn't as tight as I thought it would be after reading the briefing on the U2 website for the North American shows, I recorded the gig and got my stuff in without a problem so I was happy with that. I am listening to the show again now and it sounds great !

Probably the biggest show I have been to except maybe for the Stones, or maybe this was bigger ?

The band's performance was great, from a musicians POV the show was pretty flawless, The version of Desire was a bit rouhg But I see they haven't played it in a while so thats understandable.

Would I see them again ? probably :)
