Review

2006-11-09 - Top notch submitted by J

I managed to get to the venue with a very little fuss, and arrived before Kanye West took the stage. Was going to get a shirt, except for the amazingly horrendous lines!

Found my seats easily, not many rows short of as far away as you could get from the stage - lucky there was that 30m screen and I had binocs!

Kanye was really really bad, but whatever. Strange choice to open for U2. I skipped him and went to get some beer, which was another painless experience at my end of the stadium.

U2 were kick ass, right from the get go. The Edge sounded fantastic all the way through. Seeing him play piano and guitar at practically the same time was awesome!

The set from Sunday Bloody Sunday through to One was so well done, and had the entire stadium rocking out. Miss Sarajevo was so well done. I was wondering who was going to do the Tenor part, and then Bono launched into it himself. I can't describe how perfectly he pulled it off! Full credit to him for that one.

Leaving the stadium was a MASSIVE ordeal, as the staff were hopeless beyond belief. When I eventually found where I had to be, it too all of 2 or 3 minutes to get out of there, so my frustrations quickly eased.

Come back soon U2, just not to that place ;)
