Review

2001-11-30 - St. Louis Concert submitted by Chuck Kiefe

This was my fourth tour to see the band and this was the best experience to date. While the visual presentation did not approach the Zoo TV tour, the lighting was outstanding. The combination of high-tech wizardry and hand pointed spotlights (as seen during the Joshua Tree tour) added to the overall experience.

The song selection focused on the latest album but the band still played a full range of songs from their musical career. "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" was highlighted when Bono picked a person out the audience to play the acoustic guitar (and he played very well). Bono clearly energized the audience to participate throughout the show.

Bono referenced 9-11 during the show and the show of victim's names during the playing of "One" was probably the most emotional part of the show. Whether this was showmanship or not, Bono connected with the American audience.

Well worth the money spent and already looking forward to their next U.S. tour.
