Review

2006-02-17 - ZOOtv returns... What could be better? submitted by Irish-Mexican.

I am not quite as young as I was when I saw first U2 back in 1992 and, for that matter, neither are they.

However, last night it felt as it time had not passed and one could afford to be a young idealistic fool again.

The oxymorons of ZOOtv (naiveté and cynicism coexisting in the same place) and the tightness of a band that has been on the road for a few months (my sympathies for the Chicago fans who witnessed a less-than-stellar performance), coupled with the ever-imposing Azteca Stadium, which made its voice heard last night, made for a magic evening.

Did I miss Bad? Yes. But that's a minor glitch, really.

U2 are back in force and last night's show was proof irrefutable.

Details? Setlists? They will be examined elsewhere. My experience was an emotional one and as such I will rememeber it.
