its a cold february night, that promises to be one of the best nights that i can think of. a full moon shined on us and in Estadio Tecnologico. more than 40,000 fans from all over the country waited eagerly to admire an event that Mexicans waited to see for more than 8 years.
A full moon shines on a stadium completely sold out, and on a stage that was going to be the witness to an historic experience. the first concert of 2006, the first concert in Mexico, the first time ever that Monterrey would witness the presence of one of the most important bands in the world... U2.
40,000 voices screamed and roared together the appearence on stage. from that moment all that i could think of that would describe what i felt and everybody else felt, is magic.
Bono, The Edge, Larry and Adam made every single soul in that stadium chant, cry, smile, jump, scream, and every word that could describe the ecstasy that we felt. the Magic of their music united people from all over Mexico in an experiece that is going to mark my life.
i cant think of a more emotive moment than Bono apologizing in spanish, a phrase than im not going to forget, "perdon por haber tardado tanto en regresar" (sorry for taking so long to come back). another magic moment was when he sang "cielito lindo" making every body sing it with him.
i cant think of a band more involved with peace in the world, i cant think of a band more involved in spreading peace in the world and i cant think of a band more interested in bringing together all the cultures to achieve peace.
as a prelude to "one" Bono explained to us in spanish that no one can change the world by themselves, but that we all came together as one everything was possible.
there is no other band that spreads MAGIC and PEACE as U2 does..
all that i can say is that a full moon shined on Monterrey and that full moon was U2....

and another thing.... to BONO, THE EDGE; LARRY and ADAM... Mexico and Monterrey loves you
