I had just turned 18 and U2 were the biggest band in the world. I had been a fan since first hearing 'Pride' about 8 or 9 years earlier.

The opening the show was unbelievable - George Bush film clips pasted together saying "We will, we will rock you" to the backing of the classic Queen track. At this time the 1993 presidential election between Bush and Clinton was imminent. Bono then appeared as a sillhouette walking over the top of the massive PA stacks in front of the flurescent screens, mocking the Nazi salute (as a reference to the neo nazi movement of that time).

The show was a burst of TV, energy and classic U2 stadium mayhem. There was nothing on earth like this show at this time and I felt privileged to be there. The U2 lads were on top form on a summer Glasgow evening with the crowd singing louder than the band, in a typical Glasgow fashion.
