Review

2005-12-19 - Phenomenal submitted by Youngblood85

This is the second show I have seen on the tour, the first was Seattle 4/24/05. This was better than the Seattle show. The energy of the crowd was something to behold. Having been nine months since tickets went on sale, I guess everyone had a surplus of energy.

The band was great. Bono's voice seemed to be giving him some problems, but like the master showman that he is, he went ahead with the performance full steam. The only disappointment I had was that I was hoping they would play "Instant Karma", but that was a small disappointment.

That is simply the most cell phones I have ever seen in one place. The Seattle show gave me goosebumps when the cellphones came out. This just put me awe. U2 is the best live act going and their music is still fresh.

I was disappointed that the crowd was not better for Kanye West. One day, we might look back at that and see that we had the two biggest acts in music on one night in Salt Lake City, of all places, and only a handful of people were there for one of them. Kanye was terrific and played to the numerous empty seats. U2 was phenomenal and played to few, if any, empty seats.
