Review

2005-12-15 - Proving that it IS possible to improve upon perfection! submitted by Jay P.

The boys' seventh appearance in St. Louis was my third time seeing them live. Like the other two shows, all I can say is unbelievable!

The setting was perfect, in terms of lighting and effects. Despite Savvis' poor concert acoustics, Bono and the boys always manage to rise above it.

I was hoping to hear one or two of their lesser-played hits, such as "So Cruel" or "In God's Country". While those didn't make the set list, I was thrilled to hear "Gloria" and "Miss Sarajevo". My only wish is that they had pulled at least one track from "Pop"... not everyone's favorite, but I'll always remember it as it was my first U2 show.

I can't say enough about last night. I'm still feeling the adrenaline! "Sunday Bloody Sunday" blew me away, as always. And it was great seeing their grins as they performed the second encore set. You could see their comfort and passion -- unwavering -- after all these years.

The new Fab Four are proving, once again, that it is quite possible to improve upon perfection!

P.S. Perhaps the best part of the show came in the beginning when Bono thanked fans for their continued support and stated, "This is only the beginning". That leaves me some comfort in knowing that they will be back in 3 to 4 years with yet another new album and tour. See you then, whatever the cost!
